Dear Sisters in the League,
On this beautiful Valentine’s Day, as we celebrate love in all its forms, I send you warm blessings and heartfelt gratitude for your dedication, faith, and unwavering commitment to serving God and one another.
In this Jubilee Year of Hope, we are called to “Sparkle God’s Way as Beacons of Hope and Light to Everyone We Meet.” Just as the women in the Gospels—Our Blessed Mother Mary, Mary Magdalene, Martha, the Samaritan woman, and so many others—reflected Christ’s love and carried His light into the world, so too are we, as Catholic Women Servant Leaders, called to shine brightly in our families, our parishes, and our communities.
St. Valentine’s Day is not merely a day of romantic love; it is a day that reminds us of God’s greatest gift of love to each of us – the gift of Salvation through Our Savior Jesus Christ, and Jesus’s greatest commandment—to love one another as He has loved us (John 13:34). Love is the foundation of our mission in the Catholic Women’s League. It is found in the sisterhood we cherish, in the kindness we extend, and in the hope, we inspire in others. As women of faith, we serve not for recognition, but out of a deep and abiding love for God and His people.
May we take inspiration from St. Valentine, who courageously lived and shared Christ’s love despite great challenges. Like him, may we boldly stand for truth, nurture one another in faith, and reflect God’s enduring love in the world.
Through the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary, may we continue to be instruments of God’s love, spreading hope and light wherever we go.
On behalf of the Hamilton Diocesan Team, I wish you hearts be filled with God’s peace, joy, and the radiant love of Christ today and always. Happy Valentine’s Day, my dear sisters!
With love and prayers,
Teresa
