Dear Sisters in the League, Spiritual Advisors, and Hamilton Diocesan Executive Team,
As we celebrate the joy and wonder of Christmas and prepare to welcome a new year, I extend my heartfelt greetings to each of you and your families.
On this holy season, we are drawn once again to the Bethlehem Star, shining brightly on the darkest of nights, leading the world to God’s greatest gift of all — Jesus Christ, our Light and our Hope. That sacred light entered the world through Blessed Mary’s humble and courageous “yes.” In accepting God’s call, she became the bearer of the Sacred Sparkle — a living witness of faith, trust, and obedience. May our Blessed Mother continue to comfort us, guide us, and intercede for us as we strive to follow her example.
As members of the Hamilton Diocesan Council, we are called to Sparkle God’s Way — to be Beacons of Hope and Light to everyone we meet. Each act of kindness, service, leadership, and prayer reflects that sacred sparkle received at our Baptism and entrusted to us to share with the world. In times that often feel uncertain or heavy, your faith-filled presence shines more brightly than ever.
This past year has truly been an inspiring one. It concluded beautifully with a very successful Hamilton Diocesan Advent Retreat, where faith, sisterhood, reflection, and hope were deeply felt. I am profoundly grateful for your commitment, your leadership, and the countless ways you serve God and Canada through the League and our three pillars of Faith – Service – and, Social Justice.
It is an honour and a blessing to serve as your Diocesan President. Thank you for your trust, your collaboration, and your unwavering dedication and support as women servant leaders — women who lead with grace, strength, compassion, and faith. Together, we continue to witness to the power of women responding generously to God’s call, with the spiritual guidance and friendship of our Spiritual Advisors.
May the peace of Christ fill your hearts this Christmas season. Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas, and may God richly bless you in the year ahead.
With gratitude and prayers,
Teresa
