Annual Reports

Thank you to those councils who participated in the online annual reporting.  Reports are mandated as part of our not for profit status with the Federal government. The responses also assist in planning for the future, reassessing programs and identifying areas for communication with parish councils.

President’s Report

Every year the Parish Council President reports on the good works of their council from the previous year, so they can be shared with other sisters in The League. In addition, each President is asked to report on a past event or an event that is still continuing to this day as part of the celebration of 100 years of the Catholic Women’s League of Canada in Hamilton Diocese.  The president’s report will be published in the Annual report book which will be distributed at our 100th Annual Diocesan Convention in May.

Your report:

  • Not to exceed one full page
  • One inch margins on all sides
  • Verdana font 12 for body of report
  • State name of council, name of president, spiritual advisor and number of members
  • Send reports to [email protected]
  • Deadline April 5, 2020

Frances Lovering Award

The Frances Lovering Award was instituted in 2000 to honour Frances Lovering, a member of the first national executive of the Catholic Women’s League and our first diocesan president.

The nominee is to be a member who demonstrates the mission of the League in her service to the League, her parish, and the community. Local council executives are invited to consider nominating one member for this special distinction.

Executives may wish to honour a member who has worked tirelessly on a special task or project or someone who has been an example of faith and service to other members. Diocesan executive members are not eligible for this award while they are in office.

Nomination forms can be found on the website at cwlhamilton.ca/awards/frances-lovering.  Completed forms are submitted to the diocesan organization chair at [email protected] by April 1, 2020.

All nominations will be acknowledged during the closing banquet at the annual convention in May.  The council president of the chosen nominee will be contacted to ensure that the winner is present at the conventions closing banquet.  For more information please check the website.

Since we are celebrating 100 years of The Catholic Women’s League of Canada in Hamilton Diocese, it would be lovely if we had an abundance of nominations for the Frances Lovering Award.

“Necessary emphasis should be placed on the ‘genius of women’, not only by considering great and famous women of the past or present, but also those ordinary women who reveal the gift of their womanhood by placing themselves at the service of others in their everyday lives.  For in giving themselves to others each day women fulfil their deepest vocation.”

Pope John Paul II

May we follow in the footsteps of Mary…as we travel this road together!
